PRINCIPLES OF OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathic principles are the dominant guiding force behind every osteopathic treatment at Stay Strong Osteopathy Clinic. They are what makes osteopathy unique in the modern healthcare system and include:
The body is a unit - one part of the body has the ability to affect the function of another. All components are dependent on each other.
Structure and function are reciprocally interrelated - simply, if the structure is changed, the function will change.
The body is capable of self-healing and self-regulatory mechanisms - as osteopaths it's our responsibility to remove any musculoskeletal restrictions that may hinder these natural processes from occurring and to stimulate the tissue healing processes.
Rational therapy - treatment and diagnosis must be based on the above three principles.
Stay Strong Osteopathy Clinic is based in Niddrie but we work with osteopathy patients from Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Pascoe Vale and throughout Melbourne’s north west.
